For information on water quality, please consult the city's Water Quality Assurance Lab. Answers to frequently asked questions are available online, but you can call (614) 645-7691 to speak with someone directly.3

Inquiries regarding water quality can also be directed to the Division of Power and Water Emergency Services at (614) 645-7788.

Department of Public Utilities

The Columbus Department of Public Utilities is a great source of information regarding how to report and respond to water main breaks, hydrant and other curbside leaks, basement flooding, and a host of other situations in which you unexpectedly find large quantities of water (or worse) pooling on your property.

The general public utilities department phone number is (614) 645-8276, but non-emergency repair and service requests should be submitted through the city's 311 Service Center.4 If you need to report a public utilities emergency, please use one of the phone numbers in the red box above.
