Some residents have posted concerns on Nextdoor about individuals ringing doorbells in the early and late evening. Officer Paulus, our police liaison, suggests residents take the following steps to remain safe when responding to these solicitations:
- Keep porch lights on all night.
- Look through a peep hole or side window to see who is at the door before opening.
- If you do not feel safe opening the door, speak with the person while keeping the door locked.
- If you do not recognize the person at night, and you feel the person is suspicious, call the police.
