"The City of Hilliard is again offering FREE Styrofoam recycling collection this holiday season!" Go Green Hilliard writes.

To take part in the Styrofoam recycling collection, follow these steps:
  1. Please remove tape, paper, and any other non-Styrofoam materials.
  2. No food-grade Styrofoam (no meat packaging containers, trays, cups, plates, egg cartons, etc.) unless it is brand new and has never contacted any food or beverage. We do *not* currently accepted [sic] washed food-grade Styrofoam. Remember that a little contamination can destroy many good efforts, so please no Styrofoam that has come in contact with food.
  3. Please keep all Styrofoam peanuts in a sealed plastic bag. They will blow away if they are not in a bag.
  4. Start saving now! Styrofoam is generally one of the hardest materials to recycle, and as a result, most recyclers do not accept the material. So start saving Styrofoam now and plan on bringing it to Hilliard’s Styrofoam recycling collection on Dec. 30!
