Voting absentee but don't want to send in your ballot by mail?
In Franklin County, you can return your completed ballot to the Franklin County Board of Elections in person using the secure drop box located outside the Early Vote Center, 1700 Morse Road.
Ballots returned in person to the board of elections must be received by 7:30 p.m. on election day.
Per the Ohio Secretary of State, either you or a "near relative" may deliver your completed absentee ballot to the board of elections. A near relative is either "the voter’s spouse or the voter’s father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, brother, or sister of the whole or half blood, or the son, daughter, adopting parent, adopted child, stepparent, stepchild, uncle, aunt, nephew, or niece" of the voter.
Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by the day before the election (November 2) and received by the board of elections no later than 10 days after the election (November 13). Remember: Marks made by postage meters do not count as postmarks.
Consult the Franklin County Board of Elections for up-to-date information on absentee voting requirements, deadlines, and the early in-person voting schedule.
