Your yogurt container is now recyclable!

Rumpke has introduced a new plastic expansion program! As part of this initiative, you can now recycle the following types of tubs:

  • Yogurt
  • Butter
  • Sour cream and cottage cheese
  • Fruit cups
  • Jelly and pudding

Rumpke now recycles yogurt, butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, jelly, and pudding tubs and fruit cups.

All tubs must be rinsed and loose, i.e., not stacked inside one another. Lids must be reattached to containers before recycling. No lid is fine; loose lids are not.

Other recycling reminders

Only glass jars from food items (properly rinsed) can be recycled. No food residue should be on any recycled items. Use your best judgement before recycling pizza boxes.

Rumpke remains unable to recycle the following:

  • TAKE-OUT CONTAINERS
  • PLASTIC BAGS
  • Solo cups
  • Over-the-counter medicine bottles
  • Clam shell containers
  • Glass candle holders
  • Hazardous materials like batteries and chemicals
  • Tanglers like clothing, garden hoses, ropes, dog leashes, chains, textiles, labels, and netting
  • Scrap metal and pots and pans
