Beginning Tuesday, July 6, Columbus will once again enforce expired vehicle registrations, according to a release from the city's Department of Public Safety.
City of Columbus to Resume Enforcement of Expired License Plate Tags on July
Effective on July 6, the City of Columbus will resume enforcement on vehicles displaying expired vehicle registration stickers. This action follows the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles on July 1 ending its extension to renew the expired tags.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the BMV automatically extended vehicle registration with an expiration date between March 9, 2020, and April 1, 2021, to July 1, 2021. The city’s enforcement will start back up following the July 4th holiday weekend.
