Summer ‘17 | Your Columbus “Leisure Card” is a passport to fun

A header image announcing The Glen's Summer'17 series of articles.

Many of the programs we’ll discuss as part of our Summer ‘17 series are managed by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. That’s why, before we cover anything else, it’s important to talk about Columbus’s “Leisure Card” program.

Required for program participants age six or older, Leisure Cards are photo IDs that grant admission to many city recreation facilities. They cost $1 and are valid for three years.*

Children age five or younger do not need their own Leisure Cards, as they will be admitted to city facilities for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To purchase your Leisure Card, you must visit a participating Columbus community center. A list of community centers offering Leisure Card registration is available through Columbus Recreation and Parks.

You’ll need to bring an acceptable form of identification for every family member who’s signing up for a Leisure Card. The following documents are permitted:

Under 18

  • Driver's License (U.S or Canada)
  • School Photo ID
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate

18 & Over

  • Driver's License (U.S or Canada)
  • School Photo ID
  • Current Employee Photo ID
  • Current Military Photo ID

More information about Leisure Cards is available on the Columbus Recreation and Parks website.

Tune in Wednesday...

That's all for today. Summer '17 will be back on Wednesday with a post going over Columbus Recreation and Park's eight outdoor swimming pools.

And if you haven't already, check out our first Summer '17 post on Hilliard's two municipal pools.

See you on Wednesday!

*The Columbus Leisure Card is not a pool membership. Additional fees – including non-member daily entrance fees to Columbus's outdoor swimming pools – apply to Leisure Card holders. To enter a Columbus aquatics facility, you must have either a Leisure Card or pool membership.
